Emerging with Joy!

Hi dear friends,

Yes, I have been quite absent from email, podcasts and such.

At the end of 2022, I found a lump in my left breast.  It turned out to be a rare form of breast cancer.  I had a lumpectomy in May of 2023 and in my follow-up visit the surgeon was confident we got all of it.  However,  the journey didn’t end there and I went through an aggressive 8 rounds of chemo over the summer and 25 rounds of radiation in the fall and winter. 

The surgeon’s parting words at the end of that meeting were “9 months and you are through this”

I grabbed hold of that hope and promise and walked through 2023 looking for the sweetness each day/week of this season, sharing it on my personal Facebook page.  ( I never intended to, but I cut my hair super short before it was due to fall out and I didn't want to surprise anyone then everyone said how great I looked and sigh... that felt weird knowing what I was going to go through next so one thing lead to another and I started sharing my  journey with a sweetness story and photo)

You know, a good story has to have some challenges and overcoming!  So I leaned hard into the good that was coming out of this.

“9 months and you are done” Hmm that sounds like a birthing!

I am now well past the nine months,( that occurred at the end of December which was also when my radiation was completed)

Physically I’m a little scarred and am still healing.  My first mammogram last week revealed all was clear.  Mentally and emotionally I am moving past the trauma of it all.

So what GOOD has come out of this?

• I gained a whole new community of friends
• My little family of 4 are even closer
• There are some new levels of brave in me!
• I launched Park Bench Friendships this spring to help others find community in Stratford
• Dipped my toes into networking events with Fresh Idea Collective to help get back into Nest Feathers mode and create in-person connections.
• I actually did a takeaway from one of these events and asked to collaborate with local entrepreneurs and fellow business owners…

This fabulous, bubbly woman named Nia reached out and Whoop!  Whoop!

I am so happy to announce my first workshop since 2022.

The “Been there, bought the t-shirt – it no longer fits but I can’t let go of it” kind of stuff

I have set aside 4 Weeks to lead you on a Clutter Exodus!  The very best kind -- in person, with lots of stories, prompts, wisdom, expectations for success and cheering each other on!

p.s.  If you have to be bald in the summer -- drive around with the windows down and let the wind blow!  It was one of the Best feelings ever in a season of hard feelings!
